How accurate is the takeoff from an address?
As accurate as your outline. You trace the lawn on satellite imagery and GreenMargins works out the area from your shapes, with each side's length labelled as you draw. It is a measurement you make at your desk, not a survey: heavy tree cover can hide where a lawn ends and new construction may not show on the imagery yet, so tighten the outline on-site when something looks off, before the quote goes out.
Can I adjust the measurement on-site?
Yes. Your outline is never locked. Drag a corner, add or remove a point, or type the square footage you measured on-site, and the quote recalculates: labor, materials, and margin all update from the corrected numbers.
Does address-based takeoff replace a site walk?
For pricing, often — especially mowing and maintenance work where what you mainly need is property size and drive time. For complex installs, grade changes, access problems, or anything you'd hate to discover on day one, still walk the site. The difference is you no longer need a visit just to measure, and you can send a credible number the same day the lead comes in.
