HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPARISON

GreenMargins vs QuoteIQ: Which Fits Your Crew?

GreenMargins vs QuoteIQ comes down to one question: is your problem getting quotes and invoices out the door, or knowing which jobs make money after burden, travel, and overhead? QuoteIQ attacks the first, GreenMargins the second. One caveat before the details: when we searched the comparison queries in October 2026, nearly every ranking result was published by QuoteIQ itself, and this page is written by us, the other vendor. So every QuoteIQ pricing and tier claim below is dated and checkable on QuoteIQ's own public pages, and the sections where QuoteIQ is simply the better tool say so without hedging.

Quick Answer

QuoteIQ is an all-in-one field service platform that bundles estimating with invoicing, online payments, customer financing, and an AI receptionist, with satellite measurement and job costing available on its higher tiers. GreenMargins, job costing and margin software for landscaping contractors, does one narrower thing: it prices every quote from your own burdened labor, drive time, materials markup, and overhead so you see the margin before you send, then logs actual costs against the estimate after the job.

Pick QuoteIQ if your bottleneck is the front office: quotes, invoices, payments, and the phone. Pick GreenMargins if the quotes are going out fine and the problem is that you cannot tell which ones make money. Prices for both were verified on the vendors' public pricing pages in October 2026, and the full trade-offs, including where QuoteIQ wins, are below.

How to Read a Comparison Written by a Vendor

We build GreenMargins. QuoteIQ publishes its own comparison pages, ranking itself against Jobber, Yardbook, Service Autopilot, and much of the industry; when we searched "QuoteIQ alternatives" and "QuoteIQ vs" queries in October 2026, its own articles filled nearly every result we could see. That is the state of this corner of the internet: the vendors review each other and themselves, and nobody neutral has shown up yet.

So here is the deal this page offers instead of pretending to be neutral. Every QuoteIQ pricing and tier claim is checkable on QuoteIQ's public pricing page, dated October 2026, and QuoteIQ's feature descriptions here come from its own site, flagged as its words where we could not test them. Every claim about GreenMargins is limited to what the product actually does today, including the list of things it deliberately does not do. Where QuoteIQ is the better buy, this page says so in plain sentences.

If you want the wider field instead of a two-way comparison, the lawn care estimating software roundup covers five tools including both of these, and the Jobber job costing comparison handles the most common third option.

GreenMargins vs QuoteIQ at a Glance

Both prices below are the vendors' published figures, verified October 2026. QuoteIQ bills monthly, and its pricing page advertises two months free on annual billing; GreenMargins is quoted as the effective monthly rate when billed annually, with the month-to-month rate disclosed.

What QuoteIQ Does Better

If any of these six things is your main problem, QuoteIQ is the better buy and you should not talk yourself out of it.

The front office lives in one app

QuoteIQ's cheapest plan already includes estimates, invoices, scheduling, online payments, and customer financing (through Stripe or Whop, per its pricing page). GreenMargins has none of that: no invoice has ever been sent from it, and none will be.

If you are currently paying for a quoting app, an invoicing app, and a card reader separately, QuoteIQ collapses three subscriptions into one, and that is real money every month.

It answers the phone

QuoteIQ ships an AI Virtual Call Team, a 24/7 receptionist that picks up while you are on a mower. A caller who gets voicemail at 2 p.m. calls the next company on the list; if that is how you lose work, this one feature is the comparison. GreenMargins has no phone features and no client messaging at all.

Cheaper to start

Essentials at $29.99 a month is a lower entry price than GreenMargins at $47 a month billed annually ($59 month-to-month). If all you need this season is professional quotes and invoices going out, QuoteIQ gets you there for less.

Employee time tracking and live GPS

QuoteIQ lists Time Tracking Pro, EmployeeHub, and live GPS crew tracking on its upper tiers. GreenMargins deliberately has no employee time clock and no timesheets; its per-visit timers exist to cost jobs, not to run payroll. If you want hours tracked for payroll in the same tool, QuoteIQ has a feature for it and we do not. (Crews that need serious GPS time tracking usually end up at LMN, covered below.)

Marketing and reviews are built in

Review Multiplier and Mass Campaigns handle the asking-for-reviews and email-blast work that GreenMargins simply does not do, and QuoteIQ Cam job photos plus before/after AI images cover the client-facing side.

It is not landscaping-only

QuoteIQ markets to pressure washers, roofers, painters, plumbers, and by its own count more than fifty trades. If you run mixed service lines under one roof, a multi-trade tool fits that. GreenMargins is built for landscaping and lawn care crews of one to ten people, and its cost model assumes that world: per-visit travel, material markup on mulch and stone, seasonal routes.

What GreenMargins Does Better

One thing, mostly: whether each job was priced to make money, and whether it actually did. Everything below is a different angle on that.

The margin is on the quote before you send it

Every GreenMargins quote is a small P&L. Labor goes in at the burdened rate, not the wage. Travel cost is computed from the actual job address through Google Maps, with drive time, distance, fuel, and vehicle wear, and a choice between driver-only and full-crew travel. Materials carry your markup. Overhead is allocated per billable hour. The quote shows live gross profit and margin while you build it, so you catch a bad price while you are still holding it instead of finding a season of them in the March books. If you have never worked out your burdened rate, start with the labor burden guide or the free labor burden calculator.

The AI never sets prices

You can dictate a job recap and get a coached draft quote, but every dollar figure comes from your own service catalog and settings. Anything the AI cannot match becomes a question back to you instead of a guess. That distinction matters: an AI that invents a price is just a faster way to quote wrong. QuoteIQ ships an AI Estimator as well; its pricing page lists it as available on every plan through its IQ Credits system (verified October 2026). We have not tested it and will not characterize it here; we can only tell you the rule GreenMargins is built around.

Estimate versus actual on every paid plan

After the job, you log actual hours, materials, and disposal against the estimate, and the variance is computed per job. In QuoteIQ, job costing starts on the Pro plan at $199.99 a month (verified October 2026). In GreenMargins the closeout loop works on every paid tier; what the higher tiers add is deeper reporting on quote accuracy, service profitability, and crew efficiency. The job costing software guide walks the whole estimated-versus-actual workflow with worked numbers.

Satellite measurement comes with quoting

Type the street address, trace the lawn, beds, or hardscape on the satellite image, and the square footage lands in the quote with each side's length labeled. In QuoteIQ, MapMeasure Pro starts on the Beginner plan at $99.99 a month (verified October 2026). To be clear about what our tool is: you do the tracing. There is no automatic measurement, in either product, that we would trust a bid to.

Recurring routes get costed per visit

Maintenance money is lost in drive time between stops, and software that prices a visit without pricing the drive is rounding in the wrong direction. GreenMargins optimizes multi-stop routes, timestamps arrival with a GPS geofence, runs per-stop drive and property timers, and closes out routes with per-visit pricing, so route density problems show up as numbers instead of a bad feeling about Thursdays. QuoteIQ has route optimization too; on its ladder it starts on the Elite plan at $299.99 a month (verified October 2026), while in GreenMargins it is part of the field workflow.

The Price Ladder: What Margin Visibility Costs in Each

Entry prices are the wrong comparison, because the features this page is about do not live on the entry plans. Here are three rungs a real crew actually shops for, priced on both sides: QuoteIQ from its published pricing (verified October 2026, second user $25 a month on every plan), GreenMargins from our pricing page (Starter is 1 user, Team covers up to 5 users, Pro is unlimited).

Solo operator who wants quotes, invoices, and payments in one app

QuoteIQ Essentials, $29.99 a month, done. GreenMargins cannot do this at any price, because it has no invoicing or payments. QuoteIQ wins this rung outright and it is not close.

Two-person crew that wants satellite measurement

On QuoteIQ: MapMeasure Pro starts on Beginner at $99.99, plus $25 for the second user. $124.99 a month, with the full front office included. On GreenMargins: a second user means the Team plan, $79 a month billed annually or $99 month-to-month, with tracing, margin-priced quoting, and closeout included and no front office at all.

Two-person crew that wants satellite measurement and job costing

On QuoteIQ: job costing starts on Pro at $199.99, plus $25 for the second user. $224.99 a month. On GreenMargins: still the Team plan at $79 a month billed annually ($99 month-to-month), because estimate-versus-actual closeout works on every paid tier; the $159 Pro tier adds the deepest profitability reports, not the costing itself.

Read the third rung fairly in both directions. QuoteIQ's $224.99 buys a much wider product: invoicing, payments, customer financing, review campaigns, and the AI receptionist come with it, and GreenMargins will never sell you any of that. If you need those functions, QuoteIQ wins the rung even at the higher number.

If you do not need them, the same rung reads differently: the $145.99 a month between those totals is front office you would be buying to reach the job costing behind it. Decide which product you are shopping for before you compare the totals.

What Margin Visibility Actually Means, on One Mulch Job

Every figure below is illustrative and shows its arithmetic; swap in your own wage, burden, and overhead numbers. Watch which cost lines a speed-first quote never asks about.

LineMathCost
Quote price: 10 yards of mulch, delivered and installedillustrative$1,180
On-site labor2 crew x 3.5 hr = 7.0 hr x $20 wage x 1.3465 burden$188.51
Travel labor50 min round trip x 2 crew = 100 min = 1.667 hr x $20 x 1.3465$44.88
Truck18 miles round trip x $0.60 per mile (your own vehicle number)$10.80
Mulch, delivered10 yd x $38 + $45 delivery$425.00
Overhead share7.0 on-site hr x $9.50/hr overhead allocation$66.50
True costsum of the five lines$735.69
Real margin($1,180 - $735.69) / $1,180$444.31 (37.7%)

One convention to copy consciously: this example allocates overhead to the 7.0 on-site hours only. If you spread it over travel time too, your hourly allocation drops but the job total barely moves; either works as long as you do it the same way on every quote.

The tailgate version of this job is "mulch cost me $425, I paid the guys $140, the quote was $1,180, so I made about $615." The real number is $444.31, because burden, travel, the truck, and overhead quietly took $171 the tailgate math never saw. On one job that is an annoyance. Across a season of jobs priced the same way, the missing $171s add up to a wage you never collected.

Either tool will send the customer a professional PDF. The question this page keeps coming back to is which one tells you the $444 number before you commit to it.

Which Should You Pick? Four Honest Scenarios

Pick QuoteIQ if the front office is the fire

Missed calls, slow invoices, chasing checks, no reviews coming in. QuoteIQ attacks exactly that list on every plan, cheaper than we do anything, and does it across trades. Nothing in GreenMargins will fix a billing problem.

Pick GreenMargins if the margin is the fire

Busy all season, bank account flat. Quotes going out fast and winning, which can simply mean they are priced too low. If you cannot say which of your last ten jobs made money after burden, travel, and overhead, that is the exact problem GreenMargins was built for, and the landscape estimating software page shows the full cost engine.

Pick Jobber, Aspire, or LMN if you have outgrown both

These cutoffs are our own rules of thumb, not census data. Core need is dispatch, CRM, and getting paid at scale: Jobber, whose Grow tier includes job costing (verified on Jobber's pricing page, October 2026). Around a million in yearly revenue with office staff: Aspire, whose per-property profitability reporting is genuinely deeper than ours. Fifteen-plus field workers with GPS time tracking: LMN. We hand those tiers over without argument.

Pick neither if your pricing already works

If your rates are dialed in, your margins are where you want them, and your invoicing tool is fine, a spreadsheet checks the occasional number for free. Software earns its keep on volume and on blind spots; without either, keep your $47, and ours is the vendor page telling you that.

GreenMargins vs QuoteIQ: Common Questions

Is QuoteIQ or GreenMargins better for a small landscaping business?

Neither is better across the board; they solve different problems. QuoteIQ bundles the front office: estimates, invoicing, online payments, customer financing, and an AI receptionist that answers your phone. GreenMargins is a margin tool for landscaping and lawn care crews: it prices each quote from burdened labor, drive time from the address, materials markup, and overhead, then logs actual costs against the estimate after the job. Buy against whichever problem is costing you more this season.

Does GreenMargins do invoicing and payments like QuoteIQ?

No. GreenMargins has no invoicing, no payment processing, and no customer financing, and none of those are planned. It is the layer before the work gets billed; billing stays in whatever tool you already use for it. If you want quoting, invoicing, and payments in one subscription, QuoteIQ or Jobber is the better fit, and this page says so plainly.

Does QuoteIQ do job costing?

Yes. QuoteIQ lists job costing as a feature on its Pro plan and above, verified on its public pricing page in October 2026. Its entry Essentials plan does not include it, and satellite measurement starts one tier up on Beginner. In GreenMargins, logging actual hours and materials against the estimate works on every paid plan; what the higher tiers add is deeper profitability reporting.

Which is cheaper to start, QuoteIQ or GreenMargins?

QuoteIQ's entry plan is the cheaper subscription, and if all you need is estimates and invoices going out the door it stays cheaper. The picture changes when you want satellite measurement and job costing, which sit on QuoteIQ's higher tiers with a per-user fee on top, while GreenMargins includes margin math and estimate-versus-actual closeout on every paid plan. Current figures for both are on each vendor's public pricing page; the comparison table on this page carries them as verified in October 2026.

Who should pick neither QuoteIQ nor GreenMargins?

Plenty of operations, and these are our own rules of thumb rather than industry statistics. An operation around a million dollars in yearly revenue with office staff has usually outgrown both; that is Aspire territory, and Aspire's per-property profitability reporting is genuinely deeper than ours. A company running fifteen or more field workers who need GPS time tracking is LMN territory. If the core problem is dispatch, customer management, or getting paid, Jobber is the stronger all-rounder, and its Grow tier includes job costing (verified on Jobber's pricing page, October 2026). And if your pricing already works, a spreadsheet checks the occasional number for free.
